On a girls trip a while back we stopped after dinner & took some pictures of ourselves in front of a set of wings. We had so much fun cheezin' it up! This got me to thinking about our fear to stand in front of a group & just be ourselves. Of course, it's easy with our close friends & people we feel the most comfortable with to let our guards down, be relaxed & let our personalities shine through along with all of our goofiness, lol. It is quite another story with strangers. This triggered something in myself to look further...
We are so scared. Just admit it. We are all scared of something. Scared of failure, success, all the what ifs. What people say about us & even how people perceive our character. We act tough & conceal our fears like an armor keeping us safe & protected from them. We don't want to step out of our comfort zone and face them. But, by not approaching them we are limiting ourselves and all of our potential that is hiddin away. The fear is clipping our wings and not allowing us to fly. It keeps us caged, to the point that we forget how to fly.
But, what if...
We didn't care what people thought about us. How crazy our dreams seem to them. Or how we are too old, too young. What if...We believed we could & didn't listen to the sideline conversations about how we couldn't. We challenged ourselves in ways we couldn't have imagined to accomplish goals we thought were out of our reach, even if we were scared of failure. Because what is failure, but a chance to try again, better.
What if we just grew a set...
Of wings, of course, and soared...Just sayin'
